Is Music Library Uganda completely free?
Yes, 100% free, forever. You can stream and discover all the music on this platform without paying a single shilling. We will never add a paywall.
How do I play a song?
Just click on any song card or the play button on it. The floating music player at the bottom of the screen will start playing. You can pause, skip, and adjust volume from there.
Can I use the site on my phone?
Absolutely! Music Library Uganda is fully optimised for mobile phones, tablets, and desktops. The bottom navigation bar makes it easy to browse on any device.
Can I save songs to listen to later?
Create a free account to save favourites and build your personal playlist. It's quick and completely free.
How do I search for a specific song or artist?
Use the search bar at the top of the page. You can search by song title, artist name, album, or genre. Results appear instantly as you type. You can also browse by genre from the Genres page.
How do I create a playlist?
Log into your account and go to your Profile. Under the Playlists tab, click "New Playlist", give it a name, and start adding songs by clicking the three-dot menu on any song card.
What genres of music are available?
We cover all major Ugandan music genres including Afrobeats, Lugaflow, Gospel, Kadongo Kamu, Dancehall, R&B, Reggae, Hip-Hop, and Amapiano. Browse all genres on the Genres page.
Downloads
Can I download songs for free?
Yes! Songs that have been made available for download by the artist can be downloaded for free. Look for the download button on the song card or in the music player.
What format are the downloaded songs in?
Downloads are in MP3 format, which plays on all phones, computers, and music apps. Some songs may also be available in higher quality WAV format.
Why can't I find the download button on some songs?
Not all artists allow downloads, some songs are streaming-only by the artist's choice. If there is no download button, the song can only be streamed online.
Is downloading music from this site legal?
Yes. All music on Music Library Uganda is uploaded by the artists themselves or with their permission. By allowing downloads, the artist has given consent for fans to save their music for personal listening.
For Artists
How do I upload my music?
Go to Submit Your Music, fill in the song details (title, artist name, genre), and upload your audio file. Our team reviews all submissions and will email you with an update.
Is there a fee to upload music?
No. Uploading your music to Music Library Uganda is completely free for all Ugandan artists. We believe every artist deserves a platform to share their music.
What audio file formats are accepted?
We accept MP3 and WAV files, up to 50MB in size. For best quality, upload MP3 at 320kbps or higher. WAV files give the best audio quality but are larger in size.
How long does it take to review my submission?
Our team reviews submissions within 48 hours (2 business days). You will receive an email at the address you provided once your music has been approved and published.
Can I edit or remove a song after it has been uploaded?
Yes. Contact our team with the song title and your artist name and we will update or remove it for you. We aim to process these requests within 24 hours.
How do I get the verified badge on my artist profile?
Verified badges are awarded to established artists. Contact us with links to your music and social media profiles to apply for verification. We look for artists with an active presence and multiple released songs.
How do I get my song featured on the Trending or Charts page?
Songs appear on trending based on play counts and listener activity. You can also contact us about our promotional options which place your song in the featured section and boost visibility to thousands of fans.
Do I keep ownership of my music?
Yes, 100%. Uploading to Music Library Uganda does not transfer any rights. You remain the full owner of your music. We simply host and stream it on your behalf to help fans discover your work.
Account & Login
How do I create an account?
Click Sign Up at the top of any page. Enter your name, email address, and choose a password. It takes less than a minute and is completely free.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Go to the login page and click "Forgot password?" Enter your email address and we will send you a password reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't see the email.
How do I change my password?
Log in, go to your Profile, and click the Settings tab. From there you can update your password. You will need to enter your current password to confirm the change.
How do I update my display name or profile photo?
Go to your Profile page and click the Settings tab. Click "Edit" next to your display name to update it. To change your photo, click the camera icon on your profile avatar.
How do I turn off email notifications?
Go to your Profile → Settings tab. Find "Email Notifications" and toggle it off. You will no longer receive emails about new releases or updates.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your Profile → Settings tab → Danger Zone and click "Delete Account". For security, account deletion is handled by our support team. Contact us if you need your account fully removed.
Technical Issues
A song isn't playing. What should I do?
Try refreshing the page with Ctrl+R (PC) or Cmd+R (Mac). Check your internet connection. Make sure your browser is not blocking audio. If the problem continues, let us know and we will fix it.
The site loads slowly on my phone. What can I do?
Slow loading is usually caused by a weak internet connection. Try switching between WiFi and mobile data. You can also try closing other apps running in the background to free up memory on your phone.
The site looks broken or images aren't loading.
Try clearing your browser cache: press Ctrl+Shift+R on PC or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac. This forces the browser to reload all files fresh. If the problem persists, contact support with a screenshot.
Is there a Music Library Uganda mobile app?
Not yet, but our website is fully mobile-optimised and works like an app in your phone browser. You can add it to your home screen for quick access, on Android tap the browser menu and select "Add to Home Screen", on iPhone tap the Share button then "Add to Home Screen".
Which browsers are supported?
Music Library Uganda works best on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. We recommend keeping your browser up to date for the best experience. Very old browser versions may have limited functionality.
How do I report a copyright issue?
Email us at copyright@musiclibrary.ug with the song title, artist name, and details of your claim. We take copyright seriously and will respond within 24 hours.
How do I report a song that contains inappropriate content?
Use the Contact page to report any song with harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content. Include the song title and artist name. We review all reports and will take action within 24 hours.
