Copyright Policy
Music Library Uganda respects the intellectual property rights of artists, musicians, and content creators. This Copyright Information page explains our approach to copyright, how we protect creators' rights, and the procedures for addressing copyright concerns.
Music Licensing
All music available on Music Library Uganda is properly licensed through agreements with:
- Individual artists and musicians
- Record labels and music publishers
- Collective rights management organizations
These agreements allow us to offer streaming and downloading services to our users while ensuring that creators are properly recognized and compensated for their work.
Your Rights as a User
When you use Music Library Uganda, you are granted a limited license to:
- Stream and download music for personal, non-commercial use
- Create and share playlists within our platform
- Comment on and review music in accordance with our Community Guidelines
This license does not permit you to:
- Redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit any content from our platform
- Remove copyright notices or other ownership information
- Use our content in public performances or broadcasts without proper licensing
- Incorporate our content into other works without permission
Your Rights as an Artist
If you are an artist who has submitted music to Music Library Uganda:
- You retain ownership of your copyrights
- You grant us a license to distribute your music according to our artist agreement
- You can request removal of your content at any time (subject to the terms of your agreement)
- You are entitled to attribution and any agreed-upon compensation
Copyright Infringement and DMCA
Music Library Uganda complies with applicable copyright laws, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe that content on our platform infringes your copyright, please submit a notification containing the following information:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material
- Your contact information, including your address, telephone number, and email
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was removed due to a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in Uganda
Repeat Infringers
Music Library Uganda maintains a policy of terminating the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers. We reserve the right to terminate an account after receiving multiple valid DMCA notifications.
Fair Use
Music Library Uganda respects the principle of fair use under copyright law. However, determining what constitutes fair use can be complex and depends on various factors including:
- The purpose and character of the use
- The nature of the copyrighted work
- The amount and substantiality of the portion used
- The effect upon the potential market for the copyrighted work

Copyright Education
We believe in promoting understanding of copyright law and respect for intellectual property. We encourage all users to:
- Respect the rights of content creators
- Only upload or share content you have the right to use
- Properly attribute works to their creators
- Seek permission when necessary
